Sumac Tea --

Courtesy of @elgastronomo!  Fruits of the Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina) are fuzzy tangy little seeds that taste like sour nerds (the candy) that can be collected, soaked and strained for use in tannin rich teas / infusions or natural dyes.  The tree itself is a hardy colourful woody shrub native to right here in Southern Ontario.

Tam and Adam of the up and coming foodtruck phenomenon: El Gastrónomo Vagabundo put together a great refreshing home-brewed Lemon & Sumac iced tea .. delicious :-)
